Sandy told me in Everglades City that she did not want to travel at night. It was just too cold. We changed our plans and instead of heading directly from Everglade City to Key West, we would reroute the trip and head for Flamingo. Flamingo is at the very tip of mainland Florida. The water is shallow and we had to pay careful attention to our dept and out chart plotter. We made a long sun up to sun rise passage, that in the end was well worth the risk. We arrived at the Flamingo Marina just at sunset.
